Cullinan Ivanov were engaged to develop design options for additional revenue opportunities at Campbelltown Golf Club. Working once again with the incredible team at Campbelltown Catholic Club we collaborated closely developing optimal designs for the best ROI in the following areas:

New Golf Simulators
We designed a purpose-built 4‑bay golf simulator facility utilising the Trackman system. It can be used for individual practice, group social bookings or larger functions. Re‑using a large array of existing timber bi‑folding doors allowed the simulators to open fully to the fantastic new alfresco terrace adjacent, creating a great environment for people to play, eat, drink or simply relax while taking in the amazing views over the course.

Existing F&B Terrace
Part of our brief was to create a refresh to the clubs existing F&B terrace. We removed an existing perimeter shade cloth screening system that darkened the space and smothered the great views to the course beyond. In its place we added a modern frameless glass perimeter balustrade, and distinctive red and cream striped retractable fabric awnings for sun control – these added colour and vibrancy to the terrace and wider clubhouse and are particularly striking when viewed from the golf course. The transformation of this area also included new outdoor carpet replacing existing astro turf, new lighting features, and bamboo screening to the ugly metal roof soffit. We replaced the existing furniture with custom tiled tables and booth settings, as well as white steel mesh chairs. The change to this terrace was probably one of the most satisfying aspects of the project as we achieved a major improvement to the look and feel of this area of the club in such a cost‑effective way.

Foyer
We vastly improved the sense of arrival into the club by tidying up the tired and messy elements of the existing foyer. Unsightly services and fire cabinets were integrated into a singular, sculptural joinery element. Members and visitors are greeted by warm, earthy tones of sage green, oak veneer and burnt orange. This warm palette and bold use of colour is carried throughout the club, providing a distinct character to each area.

New Alfresco Terrace
The new covered terrace off the simulator facility is a large food and beverage zone, to one end is the rotunda, featuring a sandstone turret with lounge seating and central firepit feature. This functions as a viewing platform with spectacular views over the 1st Tee and 18th Green. It also provides a strong identifying feature visible from many parts of the golf course.

Gaming
A new purpose-built outdoor gaming offer was created directly off the foyer. The gaming lounge allows much better weather and sun control and frees up other areas of the club more suitable for alfresco food and beverage uses. The overall gaming footprint was expanded for a more generous gaming layout and machine spacings and has a lighter palette with a sense of refined luxury through the courtyard garden wall features and gold reflective ceiling elements.

Lounge / Bar Area
The brief also called for a light refresh to the club’s lounge and bar areas with new carpet, furniture and painting. We worked with Identity Furniture to create custom furniture in rich tones of aubergine, brown and deep green. The existing bar was retained with a new tiled apron, Taj Mahal countertop and solid timber bar facing.
