A typical two storey terrace house, with dark interiors. We remodeled it by extending into the breezeway and leaving a light-well into the middle of the footprint. The front room was kept untouched and all remaining internal walls were removed. A new galley kitchen is situated along the reclaimed breezeway with a long run of skylights above, which bring in much needed natural light into the space. The space is articulated by the joinery units which taper in and out to create the different spaces on the ground floor.

A guest W.C. is concealed behind a large sliding joinery cabinet, the only give-away sign being a long handle. The island bench is used as preparation bench on the kitchen side and as a breakfast bar on the passage side. The whole back area opens up to the rear courtyard with bi-fold doors under a timber slatted shading portal.
