Our idea for the Green Square Library and Plaza competition was Library as a Beacon of information, knowledge, art and language with the building radiating colour, light, and sound to the community.

Our design creates a building with a dominant raised presentation to the key gateway portal of Botany Road and Green Square Station. Its façade through the use of a modulated pattern of porthole fenestration with backlit LED technology creating potentially infinite patterns of colour and movement.

This porthole fenestration is contrasted within a strong panelised concrete façade giving the building a quiet yet playful rhythm. Presenting a strong confidence in its place, its strength, colour and consistency creates a determined presence amongst the surrounding built forms.
